Please bring your electronic health insurance card (eGK) and, if available, a referral. It is also helpful to bring any relevant medical reports, recent laboratory results, and CT or MRI images, preferably on a CD, USB drive, or via a secure download link.

An up-to-date medication list is particularly important so that we can take your current medications and any potential interactions into account when planning your treatment.

As an appointment-based practice, we schedule our appointments to keep waiting times as short as possible. For an initial consultation, including a neurological examination, please allow approximately 45 to 60 minutes. If additional examinations such as ultrasound, EEG, or electrophysiological diagnostics are performed during the same appointment, your visit will take correspondingly longer.

Our practice can be accessed by elevator. For wheelchair users, we are happy to provide a portable ramp at the entrance upon prior telephone notice to overcome the steps there. Please note that our patient restroom is not wheelchair accessible.

We provide consultations and treatment in German, English, French, and Arabic.

As an appointment-based practice, we are not set up to provide immediate treatment for acute medical emergencies. If you experience sudden severe neurological symptoms such as paralysis, speech or vision problems, or other signs of a possible stroke, please call the emergency number 112 immediately.

For urgent but non-life-threatening medical problems outside regular consultation hours, please contact the medical on-call service by calling 116 117.

You generally do not need to stop your regular medications. In particular, please do not stop blood-thinning medications on your own. If any changes to your medication are required for a specific examination, we will discuss this with you in advance.

For an EEG (brain wave test): Please come with freshly washed, dry hair and do not use hairspray, gel, or other styling products on the day of the examination.

For nerve conduction studies (NCS): Please do not apply creams or lotions to your arms or legs on the day of the examination, as these may interfere with the measurements.

For an EMG (electromyography): A thin needle electrode is inserted into the muscle being examined. Please let us know before the examination if you are taking blood-thinning medications or if you have a known increased tendency to bleed.

No. Both ultrasound of the neck and brain arteries and nerve and muscle ultrasound are painless and radiation-free examinations.

During ultrasound of the neck and brain arteries, we assess blood flow and look for vascular changes or narrowing of the arteries. Nerve and muscle ultrasound provides high-resolution images of peripheral nerves and muscles and can help identify nerve entrapments, injuries, and other abnormalities.

Yes. A lumbar puncture with cerebrospinal fluid analysis can be used to evaluate inflammatory, infectious, and neurodegenerative disorders of the nervous system, as well as disorders of intracranial pressure. We perform the procedure on an outpatient basis at our practice, under sterile conditions and after a detailed discussion of the procedure. After a short period of observation, you can usually leave the practice.

Prescriptions can be issued as an e-prescription. To receive an e-prescription without another visit to the practice, your electronic health insurance card (eGK) must have been scanned at our practice at least once in the current quarter.

Once issued, you can redeem the e-prescription at a pharmacy using your electronic health insurance card. Alternatively, you can use the e-prescription app or a printed copy.

Yes, we offer secure video consultations for certain follow-up appointments and discussions of test results. This can save you the journey to our practice, provided that no physical examination or diagnostic testing at the practice is required for your appointment.

The results of most diagnostic examinations are discussed with you immediately afterwards. Written medical reports for your referring physician are prepared promptly and transmitted securely. Upon request, you will of course also receive a copy for your personal records.
